La Amapola is a charming, very spacious Andalucian farmhouse, which has been tastefully renovated in traditional style. Beautifully appointed and equipped and idyllically situated. Nestling between two tiny mountain hamlets, La Amapola enjoys unique, breathtaking views of the surrounding unspoilt scenery, Lake Vinuela and, in the distance, the Mediterranean. There are more than 300m of tiled and gravel terraces, with shady corners and seating areas, as well as beautiful gardens with jasmine, hibiscus and bougainvillea. There is a large private swimming pool in a stunning situation. The nearest beaches can be reached in half an hour and both Malaga and Granada are only an hours drive away.
The farmhouse and pool are set in 3 acres of private land amidst olive and almond groves, surrounded by over 300m of tiled and gravel vine-covered terraces. The pretty gardens are lush with flowering and scented climbers as well as herbs and fruit trees including pomegranate, apricot and peach. Guests can help themselves to fruit as well as lemongrass, mint, laurel and more from the well stocked herb garden.
The pool measures 10 by 5m and runs from 1m deep at the shallow end to 2.4m at the deep end. There is a pool shower and a large terracotta tiled terrace around the pool, with 6 sun-beds and a large cane-shaded canopy. The pool features underwater lighting and the pool terraces can be floodlit at night, should you fancy a moonlight dip!The pool and pool terraces are for the sole use of clients and are utterly private and undisturbed. For families with young children, access to the pool via the gated entrance can be closed off if required.

A Welcome Pack, house book and local information leaflets are provided for guests convenience. There is a pool shower and pool and terrace furniture inclding 6 sun-loungers. The pool is serviced twice weekly. For families with small children access to the pool can be closed off when required. There is a wide selection of childrens books, films and board games at the house. The house can accommodate up to 8 using the platform and/or single folding bed and/or cot - please ask for details.
The owner-caretakers have a separate and private entrance, driveway and parking place for their cottage which is tucked away inconspicuously on the other side of the 3 acre grounds. To ensure your privacy, when we are there we do not use the pool or any of the facilities and we have our own private gardens and terraces. We only encroach on the garden areas surrounding Amapola to water the plants twice a week and clean the pool. We are of course on hand to offer help or advice if required.

Coast/Beach
The nearest beach is Torre del Mar at 25kms - about half an hour's drive. This is a typical Spanish beach resort with sandy beach and beachside promenade with numerous ice-cream parlours, cafes and some wonderful seafood restaurants.
Nerja beach is 40kms away, about 45 minutes drive, a very pleasant and pretty resort with cliffside beaches and little sandy coves and beachside walks, plus interesting shops and some inviting bars and restaurants.
Golf
There are numerous local golf courses within half an hours drive on the coast.
Skiing
Skiing is available during the winter months at Granada's Sierra Nevada, an hour and a half's drive.
