Sited on top of a hill, Finca Higueron has spectacular panoramic views and being 3km from the nearest village, La Muela, the cottage is an idyllic venue for a quiet relaxing holiday yet being central to some wonderful golf courses. The cottage is in the center of the property; on the east side there is a large orchard and golf chipping area (50m X 20m) with mature figs, olives and almonds; to the south shrubs break up the view of Africa, 70km away; to the west there is the vegetable garden, citrus trees and a view to the Atlantic 6km away; to the north is the main house and the guest’s personal entrance. All the grounds are open to our guests. Each cottage has a private patio, with garden furniture, BBQ and mini pool, with integral seating (2m X 2m by 0.75m deep). Separating the two cottages, there is a path that meanders through a large concealed tropical garden. The Finca provides easy access to local beaches and is central to many towns and villages, it is ideal for bird watching. As well as excellent for golf, the local countryside is perfect for walking, cycling and horse riding. |

Years ago this was the house of the owners and is built of local rock and has been rendered on the inside and out. Keeping the original curved walls, the cottage retains its original character and charm. Having only one bedroom the rooms are large and spacious; for further comfort all windows have night blinds. Following the curved wall, the bedroom with twin beds is large and spacious. There are walled mounted reading-lights and a central light and fan. The large bathroom has a washbasin, toilet and bidet and a 1.2m square shower. A wide central hallway separates all the rooms, providing privacy between the bedroom and lounge where extra sleeping for two is provided by a large sofa bed. The living area consists of a large lounge-dining room with lounge seating and dining seating for four. There is a TV, DVD and music center with wall-mount speakers. The galley kitchen is comprehensively furnished to satisfy all cooking requirements. Guests say that the pictures can’t do it justice. |

Charging less the 50 Euros a round; if you are a golfer and you want to play championship courses the Cadiz area of the Costa de la Luz is the perfect venue.
There are eight outstanding golf courses less than an hours drive away from Finca Higueron and four within half an hour. Championship courses such as Montecastillo and Novo Sancti Petri await golfers who want exclusive affordable and pleasurable rounds of golf. Challenging courses such as Montenmedio and Benalup limit the number of players per day, providing free play and preventing bottlenecks and frustration. Playing off 12 and 18 respectivley, me and my wife have supplied an overview of the courses on our web site.
Golf packages, with reduced green fees and prior tee time bookings, can be organised for small groups (max 6)
Golfers can use the practice area in the orchard, for pitching and chipping (practice balls are provided).
Golf club and trolley hire is available as well as a golf club and shoe cleaning service.

There is something to do for everyone in the Costa de la Luz. You can go to a different, sandy beach every day of your holiday, or a different golf course. Near to Finca Higueron are historic sites, including the 16 acres of Roman ruins fronting the beach at Bolonia; the little know Palomo Cortija, where pigeons were bred for the Spanish galleons; an old grain water mill that is still worked by local villagers.
For nature lovers, there is dolphin and whale watching off Tarifa, or take a trip to one of Europe’s largest wild life parks at Donona or a local bird watching expedition.
Locally there are many sporting activities, including four golf courses within a 1/2-hour and eight within an hour’s drive; there is horse riding, scuba diving, surfing, wind surfing, para surfing and also hang gliding from Vejer.
On the site of Montenmedio, there is a contempory art display that is enjoyed by all who take time out to visit the wide variety of displays that are integrated into the local environment. Otherwise on the same complex their is an equestrian riding school and quad biking cuircuit.
Through the summer months each town takes it in turn to have a fair and some towns, including Vejer, have a bull run through its streets. Also, the cities of Cadiz, Jerez and Seville each have their own charm and beauty.
So even if your golf is rained off, there is plenty to keep you entertained.
There are two restaurantes (Spanish, Italian) and two venta's (bars) that offer a wide selection ofcuisine, within a five minute drive. With many others a little further away in adjacent villages and towns.
