Villa Cinco Arcos, Puerto de Mazarron, Costa Calida, Spain
The Villa Cinco Arcos near the fishing village of Puerto de Mazarron is 80 miles (1 hour 40 mins by car) south of Alicante outside and only 34 miles (55 mins by car) from Murcia airport (Serviced by Ryanair, Monarch Air Flybe and EasyJet).
CarJet and Europa are the main car rental companies available at these 2 airports.
The villa is at the foot of a small hill, half a mile from the sea, and has wonderful views across the bay to the port and to the west there are mountains (you can see some lovely sunsets behind these). There are bars and restaurants in the village Isla Plana, one mile away from the villa and many more in the fishing village of Puerto de Mazarron .
The villa has 4 bedrooms (twin bedded a cot), a large fitted kitchen and lounge/diner leading to a spacious terrace with excellent views (even better views from the sun roof). There are two shower/bathrooms and a satellite TV.
The 8 x 4 metre pool is set in a large patio with barbecue and furniture including loungers. The half-acre garden is partially walled and has many trees and wild herbs. Puerto de Mazarron has lovely beaches and is a good base for exploring vineyards, mountains and Moorish villages.
The La Manga golf course and sports centre is 40 miles North of the villa.

REMAINING ENTERTAINMENT
Since the mass tourism has not yet discovered the region of Murcia / Costa Calida there are no facilities like amusement parks / zoos. However at driving distance at the tourist centers Torrevieja / Alicante / Benidorm you will find a wide range of this entertainment. Find below a selection of parks along the Costa Calida / Costa Blanca.

THE CLIMATE
The region between Alicante and Murcia or the southern part of the Costa Blanca and the northern part of the Costa Calida is a small paradise of mild temperatures. The hilly hinterland protects this area against the wind of the Meseta, through which the temperatures are the entire year pleasant to name: in wintertime about 16 until 22 degrees Celcius and in summertime not too warm with a temperature of about 30 degrees Celcius. Besides the sun shines more than 300 days per year and the humidity is very low. This results in a perfect combination of sea, subtropical climate, many light and clean air. On top of this the presence of salt lakes and stretches of pinewoods add to the healthy surroundings. All these elements together have an amazingly favorable effect on your health. Complaints as consequence of rheumatism, gout or lung trouble can decrease substantially through the climatic influence of this region. In short, here you will find the best and healthiest climate of Spain. Recently the World Healths Organization (WHO) declared the province of Murcia having the cleanest air in Europe.

WATERSPORTS
All possible watersports can be practised along the Costa Calida.
Find below a survey of watersport clubs which are situated on the Mar Menor. At these clubs all kind of equipment can be rented and courses offered by professional instructors can be taken.
MUD BATHS
The Mar Menor (especially in the vicinity of Loan Pag?n) offers the largest therapautic open air mudbath of Europe. The mud is well-known for its many minerals what stimulates the healing process. A mudbath treatment is recommended for skin problems, rheumatism, arthritis, throat infections and rehabilitation.
