Well-equipped accommodation with aircon & heating, situated just inland from Guardamar del Segura, a lovely seaside resort with broad sandy beaches & lots of restaurants. One king-size, one twin bedroom, sleeps 4-5 (using the sofa bed in lounge). Fully equipped kitchen, lounge/diner, bathroom with large shower cubicle. Patio areas front & back for sun or shade, garden table & chairs. Swimming pool alongside with loungers & sunshades. Four beach chairs & a sunshade are provided.
Car hire is recommended for full enjoyment of the area, but nearby there is a bus stop for an easy five minute ride to the town centre, or ten minutes to the pine reserve & the beaches. A taxi back would cost about 5 euros.
There are two restaurants & a minimarket just a few minutes walk from the apartment, & some evening entertainment. |

The kitchen is equipped with oven, hob, microwave, washing machine, fridge/freezer, kettle, toaster & iron. Three ceiling fans are fitted. The bedrooms have large mirrored wardrobes, a hand hairdryer is provided, also a travel cot.
The lounge has terrestrial TV with DVD/CD/MP3/JPEG player, some DVDs & CDs provided. Also a radio, books & board games.
House linen is provided, but please bring beach & pool towels.
There is secure parking for a medium car in the gated area in front of the property, larger cars must be parked roadside.
Our keyholders are a friendly English couple who live within walking distance. |

| Local activities: |
This is a great area for golfers, with plenty of choice. La Marquesa is 5-10 minutes drive away, and La Finca (expected to host the Spanish Open within a year or two) just a little further. Las Ramblas & Villamartin near Torrevieja, & El Plantio & Alenda near Alicante, are all about twenty minutes away.
Walking and cycling are very popular in the area and there are some good level tracks nearby - one follows the Segura River inland to the lovely small town of Rojales. An English couple there will rent out bicycles and deliver them to the apartment for you if you wish.
Some of the inland towns in the area are well worth visiting: Elche has Europe's largest palm grove and Murcia and Altea have some wonderful old buildings in the historic centres.
There are several go-kart tracks nearby and a water park near Torrevieja. Santa Pola is a good resort for water sports & kite surfing and has a large harbour and fish market, and offers trips out to the tiny island of Tabarca, the best place around for scuba diving and snorkelling.
Guardamar is still truly Spanish, with pleasant palm-lined avenues and shady parks, but it does get lively in high summer. It has a huge Wednesday morning street market and evening markets also during the summer. There are several nature reserves in the area which are popular with birdwatchers. |
